The Glass Packaging Forum

We generate around 30% more waste over the summer holidays and most of it can be recycled. Recycling of glass goes up by about 50% in summer but sales of glass actually increase three fold. We need to make it easier for people to recycle particularly when they are at events during the summer period.

So the Glass Packaging Forum has joined forces with the More FM Winery Tour to provide on site glass recycling at each concert.

Who is the Glass Packaging Forum?

The Glass Packaging Forum comprises around 100 companies which produce or import, fill or sell glass containers in New Zealand. Each participating company pays a levy based on the weight of glass which they use in production or which they sell to customers. The levy is used to fund research; pilot projects and infrastructure which will improve glass recycling. More information can be found at www.glassforum.org.nz
